In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Lee "Bubby" Cline Jr.; and his sister, Rebecca.
Mr. Cline was a retired plumber. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, from which he was honorably discharged on December 2, 1968. He loved to hunt, fish, and mudbog. On Sunday's, all he wanted to do was watch his NASCAR racing. Johnny had lots of friends and family who will miss him greatly. He will always have a special place in their hearts and will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Cline of Scottsville; two daughters, Melissa Hale and husband, Mike, of Palmyra, and Sonya Gibson and husband, Glen, of Scottsville; a brother, Jerry Cline of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Ashleigh, Tyler, and Alice Cline of Fluvanna County, Glen Gibson Jr. and girlfriend, Tina, Tasha Shifflett and husband, Johnny, all of Scottsville, and Nicole Hunt and husband, Ken, and Michael Hale and wife, Jessica, all of Palmyra; four great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Caleb Shifflett of Scottsville, and Benjamin Hale and Lilly Hunt of Palmyra; and a number of extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.Family and friends may share memories and photos at www.thackerbrothers.com.
