According to Henrietta's niece, Lillian Augusta Meyers-Sanders, her aunt Henrietta had the nickname of "Aunt Sis" and "Etta".

Henrietta B. Goins was born in Texas. Her family moved from Texas to Kingston, New Mexico sometime between 1887 - 1889. Henrietta is found in the 1900 census still living in Kingston, New Mexico.

In the 1910 census, Henrietta is found in Hillsboro, NM with her husband Thomas Moore and their 3 children, and appears to have remained in Hillsboro through 1920 as found in the US Census.

Henrietta lived in Los Angeles, California in 1929 according to her mothers obituary.

Henrietta is found living in Albuquerque, NM 1935-1940.

Henrietta lived in Gallup, NM from 1940-1942 along with her son John William Moore and daughter Agnes E Moore-Evans, where she died.

According to the 1910 census, Henrietta Goins-Moore lists herself as divorced from Thomas Moore. She also states that she has given birth to 7 children with only 5 living. The 2 children not living are the twins (boy and girl) she and Tom Moore had in 1903.

According to the 1920 census, Henrietta has remarried and lists her surname (along with Myrtle and Sylvia her daughters) with the same last name of Shiley. Her son John William Moore on Sept 12, 1918 lists his mother in Hillsboro, NM as henrietta Sheeley as nearest relative. And finally, in a post card sent by Henrietta to her sister Duvie Goins-Meyers in 1915 signs it Etta Shely.
A newspaper article has been found announcing the marriage of Henrietta to Ira H. Shely on Aug 15, 1912. At this time it is not known if his middle name was Hunter or Herman. In this 1920 census, her youngest child Thelma L. Moore is missing. It appears that Thelma died between June 1915 - June 1920.

What is known is that Henrietta begins going by her 1st husband surname "Moore" for the rest of her life.
