HELPER- Mazel Grames Gale, age 97, passed away in the comforts of her daughter’s home on May 16, 2015 in Farmington, Utah. She was born April 26, 1918 in Price, Utah to Orson and Rose Christensen Grames.
Married Waldo B. Gale on November 27, 1936 in Price. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2001.
Mazel was a loving, kind and wise mother and grandmother who loved her family members and cared of each one individually.
She had a special love for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Primary President, Relief Society Counselor and many other callings. She especially enjoyed serving as a missionary in the bishop’s store house in Price.
Mazel adored anything pink and later painted her entire home pink. She loved gardening and planting flowers, her favorites were African violets and the Christmas Cactus. Grandma had an eye for fashion and loved high heeled shoes and earrings. She enjoyed animals and shared a special bond with her dog and cats. Mazel was loved by all and will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Arlene Gale, Price, UT. Carol (Gourdin) Olsen, Farmington, UT. Pam (Jeremy) Ryder, Hector, MN. Dwight (Joyce) Gale, Pueblo, CO; daughter-in-law, Barbara Gale, Helper, UT; foster daughter, Laverna; brother, Keith (Marj) Grames, Sandy, UT; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Waldo B. Gale; son, Dwayne “Dewey” Gale; brothers, Francis and Lyle Grames; sister, Vendora; grandchildren, Wayne Jewkes and Terrie Lyn Young and grandson-in-law, Shane Jacobson.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mitchell's. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
