MENDOTA - Ila N. McGuire Blevins, 98, of Mendota, formerly of Amboy, died May 13, 2015 at the Mendota Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home, Amboy with Rev. Harold Koonce officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Sublette. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 15 at the funeral home.
Ila was born Oct. 4, 1916 in Sublette to Isaac and Nettie (Clink) Musser. She married Robert L. McGuire in Dixon on July 29, 1935. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1980. She married Calvin A. Blevins in Mendota on Aug. 26, 1990. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1992.
Survivors include three children, Harriett Kelchner of Mendota, Robert McGuire, Jr. of French Lick, Ind. and Vernon McGuire of Mt. Morris; 17 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Mabel Guither of Mendota.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; one daughter, Nettie McGuire; one son, William McGuire, Sr.; five brothers; three sisters; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.
Ila worked as a nurse for the Lee County Nursing Home in Eldena and Mapleside Manor in Amboy prior to her retirement.
