Estelle Chisom Adams, 89, passed away May 9, 2015 at the Berkshire Rehab in Vinton Va. She was born in Roanoke December 23, 1925 to Larry and Esther Hogan Chisom and is the widow of Aubrey G. (Tex) Adams whom she was married to January 28, 1944 as a WWll bride. They settled in Franklin County and raised three children. She has six grandchildren and six great grandchildren whom she loved very much. She passed away in the arms of her oldest granddaughter Courtney Bass who was with her until she took her last breath, and told her she could rest and go on to be with Jesus and our Father in Heaven. It was very peaceful and sudden and we are all grateful for God's mercy that she is no longer in pain, although our hearts are breaking.
She is survived by oldest son, Gordon Adams (wife Lane) and their daughter Robyn Brennaman (husband Paul,and their children Anna Kate, Millie, and Lucy Brennaman) all of Georgia.
She is next survived by daughter, Stephanie J. Adams (previously Sullivan) of Roanoke and her two daughters Courtney Sullivan Bass (husband Daniel and their daughter Evyn Bass); Carrie Sullivan Urick (husband Brandon and their children Kayley and Brandon Urick,Jr. of Hawaii, with U.S. Navy.
Youngest Son, Andrew Lee Adams and wife Mollie, and their three children, Ethan, Kyle and Chelsie of Franklin County. She is also survived by her maternal aunt, Mrs. Lorene Dent.
She was preceded in death by older sister Sylvia Nelson, younger sister Katherine English and younger brother, Donald Chisom (recently). Also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Roy Allen, Garland Holdren, and James Nelson, nephew Allen Chisom, neice Bonnie Chisom and infant son of Katherine
Surviving Siblings are Anna Belle Holdren, Helen Allen, Joyce Price and husband Marshall, Leon Chisom and wife Judy, Thomas Chisom and wife Mary Lou; Brother-in-law, Ward English (Katherine); Sister-in-law, Sarah Chisom (Donald); Numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews are her survivors as well.
There was a private viewing and visitation at Oakeys Vinton Chapel on Sunday May 10th for family and loved ones. The Burial will be private for the family at Franklin Memorial Cemetary where she will be laid to rest next to our precious father and her husband Aubrey,who passed September 14, 1985. We are grateful to Michael Canestrari and Oakey's Funeral Service who have gone above and beyond to help the family during this sad time.
