After an illness of more than three years, Nickalaus (sic) Eisenhauer passed away early Wednesday morning, July 20, at the age of 76 years and 10 months, at his home in Gladstone. He was born September 19, 1855, in East Friesland, Germany. He was confirmed April 10, 1870.

As a young man he came to America in 1881, living for a year in Illinois, and in 1882 to the Gladstone vicinity, where he had made his home ever since.

He married Miss Charlotte Michels at Gladstone February 21, 1888, Rev. P. G. Tester officiating. Eight children were born to them, one daughter dying in infancy. They lived on a farm until about ten years ago, when they moved to Gladstone. He was a faithful member of the Zion Evanglical church until illness came upon him.

He is survived by his wife and seven children: John P. of Gilead, Mrs. G. Uphott of Deshler, Mrs. H. Siebels of Diller, Mrs. A. Messing of Gilead, Mrs. F. Saase of Diller, Henry and Philip of Gladstone, also by one sister living in Germany, and by twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. H. Henning were held at the Zion Evangelical church Friday afternoon. Interment was in the church cemetery.
