Rita I. Kapraun, 58, died at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Nursing Home.

Mrs Kapraun was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Metamora, a daughter of Joseph and Theresa Schaub Alig. She married Edward Kapraun in Metamora on Nov. 20, 1954. He survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Steve and Tim, both of Benson, Stan, Roanoke, and Pat, Carlock; three daughters, Jane Hauter, Metamora,, Alice Small and Karen Mullins, both of Metamora; five sisters, Rosemary Taylor, Rushville, Betty Ann Kapraun, Carina Stolter, Joan Turner and Josephine Trotter, all of Metamora; and seven grandchildren.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Mrs Kapraun was the Parish housekeeper of St John's Catholic Church in Benson and St Joseph's Catholic Church in Roanoke. She taught catechism at both churches. She was a 30-year member of the Wednesday Night Ladies Bowling League at Maple Lanes in Roanoke. She was a mebmer of the Benson American Legion Auxiliary, an election judge for Greene Township, and a member of the St John's Catholic Church Altar Society and St John's Catholic Church.
