Mrs. Barnes, a daughter of the late Rev. Theron Earl Jones and Mamie Putman Jones. She and her late husband, William Forrest Barnes Jr., owned and operated Arrowhead Plantation and Nursery near Fairfax. She was a member of the Fairfax First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two stepdaughters: Charlotte Victoria Barnes of Columbia, and Ann Barnes Wilson and husband Harry Wilson of Lexington; grandchildren: Victoria W. Boyce and husband Dr. Kyle Boyce, and Ann Forrest W. Bowers and husband Wyman Bowers. There are 6 great-grandchildren. Also one sister: Virginia Jones Coon.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in the Fairfax Cemetery, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.
The family is grateful for the loyal care given by Moses Cohen and a host of caregivers.
