PATTON - Phoebe L. Mertens, 80, of Patton died at 11:35 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 1996, at Miners Hospital, Spangler.
Born Feb. 2, 1915, in Ansonville, she was the daughter of Alvin H. and Deliah Leonard.
Mrs. Mertens was a registered nurse and owned the Mertens Bakery in Patton.
She was a member of the Patton United Presbyterian Church in Patton.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret Barrett of Tyrone; a brother, George Leonard of Curwensville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, E.A. Mertens in 1971. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery, Berwinsdale. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Patton United Presbyterian Church, Patton PA 16668. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stevens Funeral Home Corp., Patton.
