On the 1930 Lexington, Virginia census, I found owner and manager of Electricity office, Howard S Leech, 29, married 6 years to wife ELLA W Leech, 28; daughter Virginia A Leech, 5; son Gilmore H Leech, [3 8/12] and mother Lula B Leech, 64, all Virginia born, residing on Edmondson Street.
On the 1940 Lexington, Virginia census, I found widow MRS Howard S. Leech, 37; daughter Virginia A., 15 and Gelman H., 13, all Virginia born.
On 5 Jan 1942, widow Ella "Wilson" Arehart Leech, age 35, born inn Lexington, Virginia, the daughter of Charles H Arehart and Lena Mitchell married merchant Malcolm Swink Clemmer, 32, born in Lexington, Virginia, the son of Charles B Clemmer and Maggie Swink, in Buena Vista, Virginia. Jas F Coleman a Presbyterian Minister officiated. Per Roanoke, Virginia Certificate of Marriage #1090, on Familysearch.
She divorced Malcolm 10 years later on 7 Apr 1952 in Rockbridge (Abstract).
Ella W. Arehart Leech, 93, of Mount Joy, Pa., formerly of Lexington, Va. died Wednesday, November 10, 1994, at the Leader Nursing Center, where she had lived since March. Born Oct. 1, 1901, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of the late Charles Howard and Carlena Mitchell Arehart. Mrs. Leech was a Member of Lexington Presby. Church, and was the widow of Samuel (Monk) Leech who died in 1936. She is survived by a daughter and six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Mary and Carrie, both of Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 12, 1994, at 2 p.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. Richard M. Webster officiating. Burial will follow in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Lexington Presby. Church.
