Eliza Jane "Janie" Ozier Wright was the daughter of James Uriah Ozier and Annie Susannah "Susan" Adams Ozier. She was the second wife of Charles Samuel Wright. Janie was a schoolteacher, and the teacher of Charles Samuel Wright's daughters by his first wife. One evening she stopped by the Wright home in connection with her students, the girls, when such a great storm came up that she was not able to leave for hours. This was when she became acquainted with Charles Samuel Wright, and he began courting her. They married and had five children.

Janie didn't like country life and preferred to live in "town," in Montgomery. She expressed her wishes that she never wanted to go back to the country, even to be buried, and is buried next to her mother and brother in Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama.

(The story above was recounted by Gloria Mann, Wright Family historian.)
