H. Gene Matlock, 77 of Pocola, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
He was born May 3, 1938 in Van Buren to the late Leonard and Alta Mae Matlock.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Arkoma and retired maintenance supervisor for Baldor Electric.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Roland Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
Mr. Matlock is survived by his wife Mari-San Vaught, two daughters; Darcy Trotter of Uniontown, and Regina Hammonds of Roland, his granddaughter; Atalie Brooke Menendez and two great grandchildren; Bladen and Draken Menendez; three sisters; Kathryn Deranger of Ft. Smith, Carolyn and her husband Chester Jordan of Arkoma, and Glenda Higginbotham and her husband Sonny of Marshall, IL, two brothers; Burrell Matlock and his wife Kathy of Roland and Roy Matlock and his wife Lois of Kingsport, TN, and his in-laws; Larry Paul Vaught, Ronnie Wayne Vaught, Stanley Charles Vaught, Beverly Vaught Magness and Sharon Vaught Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alta Sullivan Matlock and Leonard Matlock, niece Tammy Dawn Matlock and sister Betty Kuzlia.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Wieland, Bruce Jordan, Tony Matlock, Rickey Jones, Bradley Bean, and Gary Huffman.
