Janet Moore (Myers) 84 of Loganville went home to be with her Lord & Savior on 5-2-2018, surrounded by her family, from complications due to cancer surgery. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 66 years, Rev. Dr. Preston Moore; daughter, Jan Moore of Hoschton; son, Tim (Connie) Moore of Decatur; grandson, Preston Moore,II of Harvard Law School, Boston, MA; sisters, Betty (Carroll) Rutledge of Stone Mountain, Sandra (Joe) Johnson, and Kay (Jackie) Smith of Loganville; sisters -in-law, Denise (Benny) Westmoreland and Dovie Heard of Loganville, brothers-in-law, Rev. Dr. Tolbert S. Moore and Rev. Jim (SuzAnne) Moore of Loganville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends & church families. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Herbert Myers,Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Green Myers; brother, Charles Hugh Myers; sisters, Patty Myers, Maxine Molly Myers Baxley, and Kathryn Thomas; sister-in-law, Sibyl Chandler; father & mother-in-law, Rev. Mack Moore and Drue Willie Grizzle Moore; son-in-law, Dan Dudenhoeffer. Mrs. Moore was born on May 12, 1933 Loganville. She graduated from Loganville High School and married Mack Preston Moore on December 24. 1951. She was a shining example of a devoted minister's wife. Mrs. Moore and Dr. Moore served their Lord and Savior for 56+ years together in 6 different churches. Dr. & Mrs. Moore were called to serve Peachtree Road Baptist Church (formerly Old Field Baptist Church) on June 13, 1965. They served faithfully there for 45 years until Dr. Moore & Mrs. Moore retired as Senior Pastor & Pastor's Wife in June of 2010. They both continued their service to the Lord for another 8 years until their retirement. Retirement was really a word that Dr. & Mrs. Moore did not recognize. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, proud grandmother of Preston the II, sister, and friend. She is now sitting at the right hand of her Lord and Savior. Everyone that knew Mrs. Moore is saying, "Well don good and faithful servant." She will be deeply missed by her adoring family, especially Brother Preston, as he said "she took my heart with her/" Service Honoring the Life of Mrs. Janet Myers Moore will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3pm at Peachtree Road Baptist Church, 142 Old Peachtree Rd., Suwanee, GA with Pastor Jay Reed, Pastor Terrell Hopkins, and Pastor Barry Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with the Committal Service handled by Pastor Bob Howard and Pastor Clark Herring. Tom M. Wages Funeral Serice in charge of arrangements.
