Funeral services for Mattie Mae Fairley, 87, of Rosenberg, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg, 4111 Airport Road, with the Rev. Larry Howie and the Rev. Ricky Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation and viewing times will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at the Garmany and Carden Funeral Home Chapel, 1201 4th Street, Rosenberg.

She was born Mattie Mae Ross July 10, 1917 in Hornbeck, LA. and passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Polly Ryon Hospital in Richmond. She married Arnold V. Fairley May 2, 1942 in Leesville, LA. She was an Avon representative for over 37 years and enjoyed her work visiting with her customers. She loved people and loved working in her church. Mae retired from Lamar CISD as an aide for transportation. She enjoyed fellowship with her Sunday School class at Calvary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was a great cook. Everyone knew there was always something good to eat at her house.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold V. Fairley; daughter, Peggy Loesch and her husband, Larry D. Loesch; granddaughter, Stefanie Stanley and her husband, Bobby; great grandson, Austin Stanley; brothers, B.J. Ross and his wife, Wanda and Macle Lee and his wife, Smitti; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Her parents, Wiley and Florence Ross, preceded her in death, along with two sisters, Mitti V. Brock and Genevieve Bailey, and three brothers, A.J. Ross, E.J. Ross, and W.A. Ross, Jr.
