LIFE RESIDENT DIED THURSDAY

Robert Boyd, a life long resident of this city and county, died at his home at 909 South Pike Street at three o'clock Thursday after-noon [April 14] at the age of 57 years and nineteen days. Death was caused from complications of diseases from which he had been suffering for a number of years.

Mr. Boyd was born in this city March 27, 1864 [cemetery record says Feb. 23, 1864 and stone says 1862] and has always resided in this community, having at one time been a very successful farmer and business man.

On October 4, 1888 he was united in marriage with Miss Katherine Dodds of Noble township and to this union one child was born, Edward Boyd, of this city.

Besides the wife and son, he leaves three brothers, Tilson, Samuel and William, and one sister, Mrs. John Cheney, all of this city.

He was a devout member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and a charter member of the Protective Home Circle of Shelbyville.

Following death the body was taken to the home of his son on West Franklin Street. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at the Catholic church at nine o'clock, the Rev. Father Borries officiating. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing, funeral director.

Friends may call at the home, 427 W.Franklin Street, from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening and up to the hour of the funeral on Saturday.
