Claudie Ida Barton was born on June 24, 1888 in Dancy, Webster County, Mississippi to David Jeremiah Barton and Martha Caroline Marshall. She was the middle child of seven children.

Her parents moved to Texas between 1892 and 1894. They lived for a time in Ellis County and then moved to the community of Rice which is in neighboring Navarro County. Claudie spent her teenage years in Rice where she met her future husband, Charles Arnold Money. The couple married on June 27, 1905 in Navarro County, Texas.

Nine children blessed this union... They were Lora Lee, Marshall Claude, David Benjamin, Annie Laura, Eula Mozell, Jess Weldon, Charles Alexander, Alford Lee, and Martha Lue. All married and had families. The family moved around quite a bit in Texas living in Mabank, Haskell, Runningwater, Morton, Floyadada and finally settling in Pampa, a small town in Gray County in the panhandle region of Texas.

Claudie died on May 12, 1968 in Borger, Hutchinson, Texas. She died of a Cerebral Hemmorhage. Other contributing factors were Cerebrovascular Arteriosclerosis, Diabetes, and Diverticulitis.

CLAUDIE IDA MONEY

Claudie Ida Money, born June 24, 1888, at Dancy, Miss., died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at North Plains Hospital in Borger, where she had been a patient for the past 28 days.

Mrs. Money resided in Pampa at 702 N. Banks, moving here from Stinnett in 1947/ A member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pampa, she had been ill since December. Mrs. Money was married to Charlie A. Money on June 26, 1905.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lora Boone of Lamesa, Mrs. Laura Moore of Pampa, Mrs. Mozell Gillis of Stinnett and Mrs. Martha Ramsat of Compton, Calif.; five sons, Marshall of Paris, Ben of Pampa, Jess of Oklahoma City,Okla., Charlie of Grand Prairie and Lee of Paramount, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Lee Pate of Earth; one brother, Arthur C. Barton of Springlake; 32 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Hawn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, beside her husband who died Nov. 5, 1959. Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be J. R. Abbott, J. L. Hampton, Travis White, Clyde Prince, A. G. Pennington, and George Flaherty.
