World War II Veteran
Mr. Everett Underwood, 60, of Hibernia Community in Taylor County, son of Mrs. Gertrude Bloyd Underwood and the late Mr. Thomas Underwood, was born in Taylor County, Ky, January 23, 1907. He died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Underwood of Buffalo, Rt. 1, AT 8:50 P.M , Friday September 23, 1967 after a long illness. He made a profession in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. A veteran of World War II, he at one time was a mail carrier for the Hibernia, Maple and Saloma Routes in Taylor County, for several years. He was married to Mrs. Esther Caulk Warren, June 7, 1958. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three daughters and 6 sons; Carl Underwood and Mrs. Curtis Hudson both of Campbellsville; Mrs. James Lee, Rt. 1, Buffalo; Mrs. Calvin Hash and Jerry Underwood; both of Louisville; Donald and Ronald Underwood, both of Marietta, Georgia; David Underwood with the US Navy stationed in California; and Teddy Underwood with the US Navy at Great Lakes, Illinois. Also 2 step-children; Mrs. Woodrow Skaggs of Hodgenville and Thomas Warren of Louisville. Survived also by 15 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 6 sisters and 3 brothjers: Mrs. Maude DeSpain and Mrs. Aileen Beams both of Campbellsville; Mrs. Estell DeSpain, Rt. 1, Buffalo, Mrs. Verna Fraze, Mrs. Mattie Cash, Mr. Robert Underwood, Grant Underwood and Russell Underwood all of Louisville; and Mrs. Gladys Gaddie, Plainfield, Indiana. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, in the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church by the Rev. Garland Skaggs and the Rev. Robert Gist. Burial was in the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home were in charge of funeral arrangements. Pallbearers were: Ernest Hash ,Jeptha Warren
