At 1.30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Peter Heiser, a well known shoemaker, of Carlisle, was seized with hemorrhages whiel at work at his shop at the corner of Louther and Pitt streets, and expired in a few minutes after. He had been slightly unwell for some time past, but nothing serious was thought of it. This morning he was up and about as usual and attended market and shortly before his death eat a dinner, and returned to his work, in the shop, which is in the same building in which he resides. After being at work a short time his wife heard him call to her, and upon entering the shop was horrified to find him with blood gushing from his mouth, and in a dying condition. Dr. Longsdorff was sent for at once, but upon his arrival found that death had already ensued.
The deceased was born in Lancaster county and has resided in Carlisle for many years. He was married twice, and is survived by his wife and two children, a son and daughter. He was a brother of the late Joseph Heiser.
Mr. Heiser was a veteran of the late war and was aged about 77 years.
