Son of John and Rebecca (Rose) Kirk.

Thomas and Martha married about 1824 or 1825 in Anderson County, Tennessee. All 9 of their known children were born there.

Children:
Hazel Ann (1825-1919) M- Joseph Phipps 1846, M- Jesse Huston Brassfield 1860

Lucinda (1828-1860) M- Henry Ridenour Bef 1848

Wiley Clark (1830-1905) M- Lucinda Kissinger 1850, M- Mary Catherine Haynes Aft 1873

Hugh Preston (1831-1890) M- Mary Ann "Polly" Spelan 1859

Francis Marion (1833-1909) M- Mrs. Malvina Nation 1851, M- Martha Overton Frakes 1908

Nancy Ellen (1834-?) M- Aaron Thomas Brassfield 1851

Thomas Riley Jr. (1837-1906) M- Susan Wineland 1858, M- Sarilda Tharp 1865

Robert McCamey (1840-1919) M- Roxie Ann Coon 1867

Samuel L (1844-1866) Died at age 21 and never married

By 1850, they were living in Mercer County, Missouri with 7 of their children. Hazel and Lucinda were not listed. In their remaining years, their residences alternated between Grundy and Mercer Counties. In the 1880 census, it lists them as living in Washington Township, Mercer County, Missouri and was the last census they were in.

There are no death records for a Kirk in either Grundy or Mercer County in the Missouri Digital Heritage database for the pre-1910 deaths.

I had read somewhere, awhile back about them being buried here. Of course I can't find that now, when I need it. The other duplicate Kirks are listed in the Kirk Cemetery which is a made up cemetery for a legend written in a history book. There is no proof that this legend is true. So you can believe either one I guess.
