Mrs. Chas. Miller of Leaf Valley, died at her home in that township Tuesday after a long illness of dropsy of which she has been a patient sufferer. Her age at the time of her death was 67 years, 6 months and 11 days. Funeral services were held today at the home and later at the cemetery in Alexandria where interment was made, Rev. Rueter officiating.
Mrs. Millers maiden name was Augusta Lemke. She was born in Pomerania, Germany, Sept. 23rd, 1854. In 1867, when 13 years of age she came with her parents to America, locating on a homestead in Carlos township, Douglas county. Dec. 17th, 1872 she was united in marriage to Chas. Miller and they have lived ever since at their farm in the town of Leaf Valley.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband and five sons: Edward, Carl, Albert, Gustav and Ernest and four daughters: Mrs. Matilda Potzwald, Mrs. Alvina Wicke, Mrs. Sophia Dahl and Mrs. Mary Dahl, also 15 grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, August and Herman Lemke, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Miller and Mrs. Julius Miller.
