He was born July 22, 1941 in Barbourville, KY, the son of Charlie and Ollie Mills Doan. He was an auto body repairman and member of the Heidelberg Pentecostal Church and Miracle Mission Church of the Living God.
Survivors are Bertha Tirey Doan of Heidelberg, KY; children Paul Scott Doan (Cherry) of Irvine, KY, Lisa Doan Lykins of Richmond, KY; grandchildren, Jessica Doan, Brett Ankney, Rebekah Dennehy, Caleb Ankney, Steven Ankney; brothers, Clint Doan (Juanita), W.B. Doan (Ellie), Robert Doan, Roy Doan (Doris), Roger Doan (Linda) all of Ohio; sisters Cora Wooldridge, Betty Washnock (Gary) all of Ohio, Flora Morgan (Tom) of Versailles, KY, Louella Sears (randy) of Somerset, KY, Lovella Dugger and Lavanna Miller (Buster) all of Girdler, KY, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Doan Jr.; two sisters, Mossie Gray and Nora Doan; a grandson, Edward Scott Doan and a nephew Dougie Gray.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the Newnam Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Elis Kendall, Bro Church Calvert, Bro. Dan Hill officiating. Burial was in the Sparks Cemetery on Spencer Ridge Road, Lee County, KY.
