Winnie Greene Young was born on January 28, 1903 in Boone North Carolina to George Washington Greene and Mary Greene. She married in 1924 to George Young of Mill Creek (Pike Co.) Ky. Winnie's parents had moved to Coshocton Ohio in 1920 to farm. Winnie developed crippling arthritis in her 30's and died at age 56.
At the time of Winnie's death, she was staying at her sister's Nora Prater's house for the past month. Her husband George Young had died in 1957. Her son, Ersel Young and wife, Lela Ruth, took care of Winnie until Nora came and got her and took her to Ohio to live. She had 3 daughters, Ruby Young Dotson,Kelsa, VA; Dollie Young, Kentucky; Anna Young, deceased and 3 sons, Marton Young, in US Army, Korea; Ersel Young, of Kelsa VA; Evans Young, Homecreek, VA. Four sisters Nora Prater, Newcomerstown, OH; Nannie Watson, North Carolina: Mrs. Ralph Bennett, Akron, OH; Medford Behling, Columbus, OH; Four brothers: Glen Green, Circleville, Jerome Greene, Withville, VA, Justin Green, New Philadelphia, Felix Green, Newcomerstown, OH and 14 grandchildren. She had one daughter (Anna), one brother and one sister deceased. She was a member of the Baptist Church, Kelsa, VA.
Bonnell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Rev. Kenneth Boss, officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion cemetery, Coshocton OH. Burial on Wed. April 1, 1959 at 2pm.
