Mrs. Drane was the widow of James A. "Alex" Drane. She was born March 15, 1914, in Meridian, MS, to Mary E. Farr and Claude N. Stuckey. She graduated from Poplar Springs High School in Meridian in 1931 and from Mississippi Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Jackson in 1936. Mrs. Drane retired from Mississippi Baptist Hospital in 1976. She grew up in Highland Baptist Church in Meridian and later joined the Presbyterian church in Jackson. Mrs. Drane is survived by her children, Ann D. and Joe Long, Jane D. and Bill Hairston, Ramphai and James A. Drane, Jr.; nine grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; one sister, Mary A. Coder; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Mary Lou McLemore. Family remembrances have been held, and a memorial service is planned for a later date. Memorials may be sent to the Homeplace of Columbus Memorial Fund or the Lottie Moon Missions.
