Ida Virginia King was born in Calvert County, Maryland; she is the daughter of John T. King & Virginia Phipps. She married Thomas Sears on 27 Oct 1887 at her home in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. They had ten children, all of whom lived to adulthood: Nellie May, Sadie Ellen, William Thomas, Alice Lillian, Hattie Elizabeth, John Clifton, Bernard Welch, James Edgar, Ruby Irene & Hazel Virginia. (Sadie, Will & Hazel are buried at LAP.) Ida & Thomas had a farm at Best Gate (Anne Arundel County, Maryland) where Ida died after being a widow for 13 years.
