Survivors include his wife, Verlaine; a daughter, Mary Kaye of Oelwein; four sisters, Anne VandeVorde of Stanley, Mary Mourer of Tampa, Fla., Marge Inman of Denver, Iowa, and Katherine Koch of Oelwein; and two brothers, John and George, both of Oelwein. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
