Peter John Schulmeister of 235 Lincoln Drive NE, Oelwein, died Wednesday at his home. Schulmeister, 67, was a retired switchman with the Chicago & North Western Transportation Co.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Richard Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brant-Kerns Funeral Home, Oelwein, after 7 PM Thursday, where there will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 PM Friday and a scripture service at 8 PM Friday.

Surviving are his wife, Alice, Oelwein; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (JoAnne) White of Waterloo, Mrs. Richard (Janice) Shepherd of Oelwein, Mrs. Jamie (Joyce) Bruce of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Larry (Jeannette) Simpson of Oelwein, Mrs. Wayne (Julie) Johnson of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Schulmeister, John Schulmeister and George Schulmeister, all of Oelwein, and four sisters, Mrs. Lanes (Annie) VandeVerde of Stanley, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Mourer of Waterloo, Mrs. Warren (Marjorie) Inman of Tripoli, and Mrs. Florian (Katherine) Koch of Oelwein.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Barbara, and one brother, Jacob.
