He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3847. He attended Dixon Springs United Methodist Church.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 65 years, Winifred Jones; one son, Daniel Jones of Metropolis; one grandchild, Faith Amber Jones of Metropolis; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Webster and Betty (Enoch) Jones; three sisters and five brothers.
Aikins -Farmer Funeral Home , Metropolis, was in charge of arrangements.
