Raymond Dixon "Pete" Huckabee, Sr. went home to be with the Lord and many of his loved ones on February 22, 2015.

Pete was born December 2, 1923 in Hamlet, NC. He is the son of Thomas W. and Ellen S. Huckabee.

Pete was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Pete graduated from Bessemer High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. After graduation, he served in the US Army during WW 2 in the European theatre. While in the army, he met the love of his life, Juanita (Nita) Bolejack. They were married for 60 wonderful years until she went home on May 17, 2006. Pete served with the Greensboro Police Department for 34 years and part-time with Hanes Lineberry for approximately 42 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Deanna H Hodges (George) of Greensboro, NC and his son, Dr. Randy Huckabee (Carlene) of Dade City, Fl. He has 8 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Our father served the Lord daily, spoke in many churches and always attended Monday Night Outreach Visitation. He was a soldier for the Lord and witnessed to hundreds of people. If he did not know you, he would soon ask, "Do you know the Lord? Where do you attend church?" The rest is history as many would hear the good news of the Gospel and come to faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. He was a perfect example of a true father as he taught us early in life to love the Lord with all of our heart, soul and body.

Thank you Dad for being you!
