OBITUARY NOTICE:
Velma Holliday, 94, of Grassflat died Friday, April 3, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home, DuBois.
Born June 9, 1920 in Keewaydin, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Dora Holt Gross.
Mrs. Holliday attended the Forest Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
She’s survived by two daughters, Judy Holliday of Morrisdale and Nancy Perschka of Winburne and five sons, Eury Holliday of Palm Bay, Fla., Elwood Holliday of Morrisdale and David Holliday, William Holliday and Donald Holliday, all of Grassflat.
She’s also survived by 31 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Holliday was the last member of her generation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Clair Dunlap; two infant great-grandsons; four brothers and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale, with the Rev. Kevin Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Keewaydin Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
