The Chandler Publicist. (Chandler, Okla. Terr.), Friday, January 12, 1906
Death of Andy Asher.
Andrew Asher died Sunday morning of pneumonia after a sickness of ten days. The funeral took place yesterday at 1:30 P.M. from the residence to Oak Grove cemetery, the services being conducted by Rev. D.E. Mellichamp, pastor of the Baptist church, who delivered a touching discourse.
Mr. Asher was an old resident of Chandler and was the worst sufferer from the cyclone of all who survived that awful experience. He sustained concussion of the brain and lay unconscious for ten days following the catastrophe, and recovery was very slow, epilepsy following the return of consciousness. From this trouble he suffered the remainder of his life, an operation performed a couple of years ago offering only partial relief.
Heartfelt sympathy is felt for Mrs. Asher who is quite alone in the world.
