He met Leone Seybold of Lima, Mt. and they married in Dec. 1936. Together they raised 5 children on a small farm in the Tyhee area. Bill went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1939 but was later drafted and served with the U. S. Army Transportation Service from 1943 to 1945. Upon returning from the Army, he went back to work at the railroad where he spent 40 years working as a Carman. He retired in 1980. Leone past away in February 1985.
Bill later met Mabel Thompson and they married in September 1986, bringing 5 more children into the family. Together they have 10 children, 31 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Bill & Mabel lived in the Tyhee area and later moved to Ft. Hall.
Bill was active in the LDS church and held several callings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, taking care of his yard, and he always had a big garden. He was very active until last fall when his illness slowed him down. One of his favorite things was his family and the family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 15 brothers and sisters, 1 daughter (Wendy), 2 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Mabel, children: Archie ( Millie) Cutler, Larry (Amy) Cutler, Brent (Ester) Cutler, Gene (Phylis) Cutler, & Sharalee (Bruce) Duncan, and Mark Thompson, Roanna (Mark) Blackham, Cindy (Kelly) Garner, & Kent (Stephanie) Thompson, and many grand-children, great grand-children, and great-great-grand-children.
Special thanks go out to Stephanie and Kayden of the Encompass hospice staff of, which provided special care for him and to Joyce Weaver, who played the harp for Dad.
A viewing will be held Friday April 10th from 6 PM to 8 PM at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, Idaho. Memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday April 11th at Pocatello 44th Ward Chapel located between Reservation Road and Ballard Road, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
