BERNARD S. MEADOWS
COMFORT -- Bernard S. 'Doc' Meadows, 74, of Comfort, Boone County, died March 5, 1987, at home after a long illness. He was a retired foreman from Kessler Coal Co., Whitesville, and attended Toneys Branch Freewill Baptist Church, Bloomingrose. He was a member of Knights of Pythians, Seth. Surviving: wife, Margaret "Peg" Meadows; sons, James S. Sr. of Comfort, Garold Woodrow of Columbus, Ohio, Hobert J. of Norwood, N. C.; sister, Mrs. Laura Jane Keffer of Charleston; brothers, Roy W. of Comfort, Sandford M. of Bloomingrose, John C. of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Toneys Branch Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Fleetwood Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Amick Cemetery, Comfort. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p. m. today at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet, and one hour prior to service at the church.
