Robert enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in 1942.By 1948 he was in west Palm Beach, FL working as a mechanic for the Clark-Warwick Oldsmobile dealership. He married Elizabeth Wurst in 1949; they had no children and were divorced in 1952.
Robert remained in the West Palm Beach/Ft. Lauderdale area the rest of his life.
