Son of Admiral the Honourable Sir Assheton Gore Curzon-Howe, KCB, CVO, CMG and Alice Anne Curzon-Howe, daughter of General Rt. Hon. Sir John Clayton Cowell; brother of Leicester Charles Assheton Curzon-Howe
He was given the name of Assheton Penn Curzon-Howe at birth.
He married Joan Henrietta Lewis, daughter of James Windsor Lewis and Catherine Henrietta Gregorie, on 26 November 1930.
In June 1946 his name was legally changed to Assheton Penn Curzon-Howe-Herrick by Royal Licence.
He died at Littleworth, Towcester, Northamptonshire, leaving effects of £119610 2s. 10d. [excluding settled land; June 1959 probate] with a further grant in February 1960 of £386817 18s. 1d., limited to settled land.
