Have heard that my GGGrandfather was a blacksmith. The area of Glidewell, about 12 or 13 miles north of Springfield, Greene County, Missouri is named for the Glidewell family. Some yrs later, the family had a little store by the highway. My Dad said they sold bait for the folks headed north to the lake.
There are homes in this area and a small school today.
