William "Bill" Aufenthie 73 of Rochester passed away at his home on Thursday March 26, 2015, following a yearlong battle with cancer.

Bill was born on September 17, 1941 in Rochester to Roscoe and Lucille Aufenthie. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1959. In 1961 he married Elizabeth Huiting and was later divorced. Together they had three Children. On May 19, 1990 he married Darleen Parkinson in Blooming Prairie. After working for the Kahler Hotel briefly bill worked for the U.S.Postal Service in Rochester. He was later the postmaster of Blooming Prairie. Following retirement, he worked in Rochester as a PERA-Professional at Century High School known as "Brother Bill" for 10 years. Bill loved golf, gardening and playing poker. He was a collector of coins and a gun expert. He was a special father-figure to Darleen's children.

Survivors include his second wife Darleen, his 3 children, Darleen,s 3 children, 3 siblings, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers James and John and his grandson Charles Van Heiden.

A memorial service for Bill will be held on Tuesday March 31, 2015 at 1PM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday March 30, 2015 from 5 to 8PM in the River Park Chapel and one hour prior to the service. Burial of Bill's ashes will be in the Millville Cemetery.
