Obituary: The Evening News, Jeffersonville, Indiana, 11 Dec 1884, page 4 column 4, reads: Mr. Evan Baggerly, aged sixty years, died yesterday at his home in New Providence of Bright’s disease of the kidneys. Mr. Baggerly had been Assessor of Wood township for many years, and was a most excellent citizen. His funeral will take place this morning at 10 o’clock.

Mr. Baggerly was one of the early school-masters in this township; he was several times elected Township Trustee, and Assessor and various other offices he has held performed the duties in a way that pleased all; he leaves a wife.
