Jammie was the only child of Lorne Honsberger (1927 - 2001) and Mary Eastland (1929 - 2005). He worked at the Collingwood Shipyards and as a horse groomer. He had one daughter, Jessica Olivia Honsberger. Jammie passed away in as a result of a car accident in Brampton on 21 February 1992 and is buried with his parents (with many of his father's family close by) at Creemore Union Cemetery.
