Per the Folsom Telegraph, August 19, 1899-DEATH OF W. DEELY-A Well Known Folsom Young Man Passes to The Great Beyond-W.V. Deely died at the home of his mother in this city on Tuesday afternoon, August 15th of heart failure. Deceased was a native of Folsom and was aged 27 years, 8 months and 18 days. Mr. Deely was an honest and industrious young man, and for several years was a railway brakeman, but during the past few years he has been employed at odd jobs around Folsom. His untimely demise is regretted by all, more especially because he was trying to cure himself from the excessive use of drugs and to once more take his proper place among men. Will Deely was kindhearted and generous and ever willing to do a favor. He spoke ill of no one and always had a good word for everybody. The funeral was held Thursday forenoon from the family residence and was largely attended. Rev. Father Quinn of Sacramento conducted impressive services at the Catholic Church and at the grave. A choir composed of Geo. Bolton, Gus Bauer, Fred Eastham, H.W. Hall, and Myron Pelton sang beautifully several appropriate songs. The remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss a devoted mother, Mrs. N. Deely, one sister Mrs. Mary Haggarty, and three brothers John F., F.A. and B.N. Deely. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
