Dora May Lawson, age 79 of Mannford, passed from this life Monday, March 23, 2015 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa. Her Family was by her side.

May was born on October 28, 1935 in Gridley, Kansas to Lester Earl and Dona May (Mattox) Terrell. She attended school in Sedan, Kansas and married James Lawson on November 26, 1958 in Tulsa. May worked for Baxter Pharmaseal in Mannford and while she was there was involved with the weekly fire protection testing. May later worked as the manager at Texaco Jiffy Trip and was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Mannford. She loved helping with Summer Vacation Bible School and fellowship dinners. She also enjoyed attending the Wednesday night bible study class. May was a very devoted mother and grandmother to her family. She loved dancing and was a gifted artist and was very proud of her Oil painting. May’s greatest gift was her ability to make other people feel special.

She is survived by her three sons, daughter-in-law, two brothers, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

May is preceded in death by her parents; Lester and Dona Terrell, husband; James Lawson, son; Robert Franklin Lawson, three sisters; Nova Pearl Alexander, Betty Jo Holmburg, Della Ruth Dodd and brother, Van Earl Terrell.

Celebration of life services will be, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mannford First Christian Church. Officiating will be Reverend Jay Hoyt. May will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford. Family will be receiving guest at funeral home Wednesday, 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
