Ethel Lingerfelt Morrison, 79, of Morganton went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, March 21, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on December 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank Lingerfelt and Iris Franklin Lingerfelt. Ethel was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church and worked in the office at Holiday Laundry for many years. She always had a smile on her face.

A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Morrison is survived by her son, Calvin Morrison and wife, Cindy, of Morganton; daughters, Elizabeth Allman and husband, Dean, and Debra Powell and husband, Danny, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Michael Allman and wife, Candace, and Leigh Anne Monn and husband, Jeff; great-grandchildren, Alexis Hensley and Madison Lynne Monn; a brother, Alex Lingerfelt and wife, Nina; sisters, Laura Whisnant, Louise Coffey, and Geneva King; a brother-in-law, Doug Greer; sisters-in-law, Betty Lingerfelt, Barbara Earl, and Sylvia Lingerfelt; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Willie Morrison, Jr.; a grandson, John Robert Morrison; a great-grandson, Colton James Monn; brothers, Delbert and Fred Lingerfelt; sisters, Rachel Allman and Virginia Carpenter; brothers-in-law, Warren Allman, J.C. Carpenter, Bronzon King, Vernon Whisnant, Bobby Earl, and W.C. Coffey; and a sister-in-law, Patsy Greer.

The graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Burke Memorial Park.
