Summer Angola resident Evelyn Irene Nelson, 82, of Bradenton, Fla., died Tuesday.
She was born Sept. 28, 1918, in Angola, to Laurel and Elsie Rinehart Whitlock.
Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker. She also was a waitress at Captain’s Cabin, Crooked Lake, and the Steuben County Building Department, Angola. She was a Protestant.
Her husband, Harold, preceded her in death in 1967.
She is survived by two sons, Eric of Angola and Brent of Enfield, Conn.; two grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Morris Whitlock of Angola and Burton Whitlock of Decatur.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachariah Nelson, on April 8.
Private services will take place at a later date in Angola. Burial will be in South Scott Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the American Cancer Society.

Evelyn Irene Nelson, 82, of Bradenton, died April 10, 2001, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Memorial service will be held privately in Angola, Ind., at a later date. The Good Earth Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Born in Angola, Ms. Nelson came to Manatee County from Indiana as a winter resident. She was a homemaker. She was a Christian. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Eric J., of Angola, and Brent H., Enfield, Conn.; two brothers, Morris Whitlock of Angola, and Burton Whitlock of Decatur, Indiana; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
