Ada (Alberstein) Abbott age 88 of Connersville, passed away on March 11, 2015, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 14, 1926 in Monroe, Michigan, she is the daughter of the late Morris & Lulu Saylor Alberstein.

She became the wife of John Edward Abbott on April 2, 1949. Ada was a member of the First United Methodist Church; where she sang in the church choir for many years. She was also a member of the Connersville Historical Society, the Questers, and had been a member of the Inter-Culture Club for 74 years. She previously had been a member of the Sweet Adelines, Altrusa Club, Susanna Methodist Ladies Circle and Peace Lutheran Church.

Ada had worked in the offices of Stant Manufacturing and Root's Blower Company. For many years she was owner and operator of Sisters Boutique, a lady's clothing and dress shop in Connersville which she operated in conjunction with her sister's beauty salon. Later she became the secretary at Central Christian Church where she served for several years before her retirement.

Along with her husband, she wintered for over 20 years in Clearwater, FL where they had many good friends. She loved being home watching the birds.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Morris (Debra) Abbott of Connersville, Joy Abbott (Robert) Long of Greenfield, and Molly Abbott (Gary Jr. ) Keener of Connersville; five grandchildren, Megara and Garrett Keener, Chad (Tracy) Abbott, Holly Shamely and Aaron (April) Rogers; and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by six nephews, Randy (Betty) Morehead, Darryll (Beth) Morehead, Nathan Jay Alberstein, David Alberstein and Mark Alberstein; and several great nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Nathan Alberstein and three sisters, Shirley Morehead, Ruth Alberstein and Thelma Millman.

Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Saturday March 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dave Galbraith officiating.

Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.

Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Memorial contributions may be to the Community Christian School.
