Henry Elsworth Anderson, 98, of Bloomington, died July 23, 2005 at Red Bud Hills Retirement Center.

Born Feb. 20, 1907, in St. Elmo, Ill., he was the son of William Elsworth Anderson and Nancy Alice Lorton Anderson.

An engineer, he retired from McFarland Zone Center in Springfield, Ill., in 1976. He was a member of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield, Ill.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Droste of Bloomington; one son, C. Henry Anderson of Washington, Mo.; one sister, Dora Head of Alton, Ill.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Roberts) Anderson; two sons, John Michael Anderson and Stephen L. Anderson; one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Droste; six brothers and three sisters, James Otis Anderson, Nell (Dunaway) Anderson, Mary Alice Smith, Roy Anderson, John Stephen Anderson, Walter Anderson, Claude Anderson, Iva Wilton and Donald Anderson.

Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
