On October 4th, 1838 he was married to Elizabeth Eyler in Churchtown, Lancaster Co., PA.
Michael & Elizabeth had a total of eight children together. The first four were born in Pennsylvania, the fifth in Ohio, and the last three in Indiana.

In his obituary it stated that:
Michael Morrett lived a consistent Christian for nearly 50 years, he had read the bible through 19 times in 13 years, while he was much afflicted yet he bore up under his affliction with patience.
Cause of death: Paralysis
