Margie Maxine Greer, 86, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born August 1, 1928, in Liberty, Missouri, the daughter of Robert Wilson Stafford and Melvina (Taylor) Stafford. She departed this life at 5:54 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at the St. Lukes-East Medical Center, Lee’s Summit, surrounded with love and family.

Margie was a 1946 Liberty High School graduate.

On October 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Homer Ray Greer in North Kansas City. He preceded her in death on May 18th, 1999

Margie was homemaker and industrious farmer’s wife. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She also quilted and crocheted. She was supportive of her sons interests as they grew up. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill First Baptist Church.

Margie was also preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Wilson Stafford, Elsie Taylor, Francis Dinges, and Donald Stafford.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (and Lurah) Greer of Pleasant Hill, and John (and Helen) Greer of Kingsville; four grandchildren, Amy Greer of Pleasant Hill, Ben (and Rachelle) Greer of Lee’s Summit, Buster Greer of Pleasant Hill, and Debi (and Michael) Anderson of Harrisonville; three great grandchildren, Mariah Selmon, Melanie Anderson, and Ryan Anderson; other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Providence Cemetery near Liberty,Missouri. Pastor Leroy Goodwin will officiate. Casket bearers are Todd Boydston, Tom Boydston, Roger Dinges, Ben Greer, Buster Greer, and Eric Sharp.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 6th, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill "Meals-on-Wheels".
