Alfred McLeod, 73, of Glen Carbon died suddenly Saturday at his home.
A resident 24 years at Glen Carbon, Mr. McLeod had been a custodian at Nestle Coffee Co., Granite City, until his retirement several years ago.
Son of Robert and Sarah Garner McLeod, he was born Dec. 18, 1887 at Bishop Auklin, England.
Survivors include a son, S-Sgt. James C. McLeod, who is stationed at Vandenburg AFB in California; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Caroline) Morris of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Sophia Lawson, Glen Carbon; and four grandchildren. One sister, Mary E. McLeod, died last Nov. 1.
Mr. McLeod was a member of the Church of England.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Straube funeral home where final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Hubert Roberson will officiate. Interment will be in the Glen Carbon cemetery.
