Opal Sue (Mangrum) Spann was born in 1932 in Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Mangrum (1895–1981) and Bertha Lou (Johnson) Mangrum (ca 1904–1996).
She was married about 1958 to Charles R Spann (1929– ), and she was a long time member of Calvary Pentecostal Church and an active member of Church Alive Pentecostal.
A resident of La Vergne, Rutherford County, Tennessee, Opal died February 25, 2015 at the age of 82.
Preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings Ophelia, Bob and Jesse, she was survived by her husband, two married sons, a married daughter, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister.
Funeral Services were held at Woodbine Funeral Home, and burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
