A native of Haywood County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Lavada (Cash) Byers and the widow of Dea Parton.
She was a member of Fairforest Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley (Parton) Cannon of Spartanburg; a son, E. Deavon Parton of Spartanburg; three sisters, Julia Adams of Spartanburg Lottie Glover of Hendersonville, N.C. and Fannie Hodges of Hickory, NC; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held 7:00 to 9:00 on Friday, December 6, 2002 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2002 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. William Waters. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
