Darlene Kratochvil, 76, Savannah, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Neb. She was born in Plainview, Neb. April 4, 1938, to Bill and Tillie Miller.

Darlene married Dean Kratochvil in Osmond, Neb., on October 20, 1956. She received a teaching certificate from Wayne State College and taught in a one-room schoolhouse near Foster, Neb. Darlene founded the Ivy Cottage in Savannah, and truly enjoyed the friends she made at the store.

Children include: two sons, Tom Kratochvil, of Arlington, Neb., and Chris Kratochvil of Omaha; and three daughters, Kim McKean, of Savannah, Kelly Terry, Savannah, Mary Cleveland, of Fort Worth, Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

Public visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015, at Breit Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah.

Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Breit Hawkins Funeral Home, and interment will be at the Savannah Cemetery, Savannah.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Backpack Buddies of Andrew County, Mo. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
